I always thought the rules that BNP dealed with multi donors was detrimental for the welfare of our country. Finally AL had the courage to change the rules to expedite development efforts of this country. I hope they will not misuse it for its party affiliated organizations.

Parliament passed Wednesday the Public Procurement (Amendment) Bill - 2009 aiming at averting complexities in signing agreement with donor agencies or foreign countries and organisations. Planning Minister Air Vice-Marshal (Retd) AK Khandaker piloted the Bill that was passed by voice vote. Through this amendment it is made mandatory to include an expert representative from the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry during the signing of any agreement with a development agency, country or organisation. — UNB
